 The Herald Democrat June 1-2, 2014 Irving - Ruth Blair Meredith, 90, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014. Graveside services were held Monday afternoon at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman with Rev. Lander Bethel officiating. Ruth was born September 1, 1923 in Mexia, Texas, daughter of Kirk Blair and Ruth Raney Blair. She graduated from Arp High School in Arp, Texas in 1941. She married Hayden M. Meredith of Sherman, Texas in Sherman on April 15, 1949. Ruth worked as a civil servant her entire career. She enjoyed sewing, reading and working crossword puzzles. She was an avid football, baseball and tennis fan. Ruth is survived by one son, Hayden M. Meredith, Jr. and wife, Pam, of Irving; one daughter, Rebecca Moriak and husband, Randall, of Bedford; 3 grandchildren, Matthew Moriak of Bedford; Molly Blair Meredith of Irving; and Meredith Moriak of Midland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Stroke Association.
