Alvie was born in
Fanning County, Texas to C.B. and Cora Reed Locke. He passed away in a local
hospital in Sherman, Texas.
On October 16, 1933 he married Miss Samantha
Lambert in Whitewright, Texas.
He was a farmer until 1950. He retired
from Con-Agra in 1977. He was a member of Belmont Baptist Church.
He is
survived by his wife of almost 52 years of Sherman; 2 sons, Darrell of Dallas,
Texas and Jerry of Bremerton, Washington; daughter, Elaine Jones of Garland,
Texas; and 2 sisters, Myrtle Birchfield of Sherman and Sylvia Cullar of Big
Pines, California.
Funeral services were held at Waldo Funeral Home, Sherman, the Rev. Jimmy
Baker of Belmont Baptist Church and the Rev. A.W. Blaine, Baptist Minister from
Collinsville, Texas, officiated.

Mrs. Locke was
borne in Clark County, Arkansas the daughter of Charlie and Gracie Deaton
Lambert. A long time Sherman, Texas resident, she passed away suddenly at home
of natural causes.
She attended various schools in Arkansas, Texas and
Oklahoma while growing up and finished her education at Orangeville School in
Fannin County, Texas in 1931.
On 16 October 1933, she married Alvie Earl
Locke in Whitewright, Texas.
Mrs. Locke had lived in Sherman since 1956,
and was a retired greenhouse worker and a housewife. She was a member of East
Sherman Baptist Church.
She is survived by son Darrel and his wife Jo Ann
Locke of Bonham, Texas; son Jerry and his wife Marlene Locke of Olalla,
Washington; daughter and her husband, Elaine and Rick Jones of Garland, Texas;
sister and brother-in-law Imogene and Hezzie Bellows of Fort Worth, Texas;
sisters-in-law Rachel Lambert of Ector, Texas and Dorothy Lambert of Forth
Worth; grandchildren Steve Locke of Houston, Texas, John Locke of Chicago,
Illinois, Raeanne and Steve Mainous of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Ken and Sandy
Locke of Marietta, Georgia, Brian and Rae Lynne Jones of Rockwall, Texas;
step-grandchildren, Kelly Jones of Richardson, Texas, Chip and Stephanie Jones
of Wylie, Texas, Sheila and Andre LaFlamme of Port Orchard, Washington and
Darren Winslow of Olalla; 15 great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren. She is
also survived by her best friend Marjie Owens of Sherman.
Funeral
services were held at Waldo Funeral Home, Sherman, with the Rev. Houston Garner of
Hebron Baptist Church and Rev. Roland Ouelette of East Sherman Baptist Church
officiating.
