Sherman Daily Democrat Saturday, January 18, 1919 pg. 4 MRS. MARY PARK Pioneer Woman of Sherman, Wife of C.R. [sic] Park, passes Away Death came to Mrs. Mary Park, wife of C.R. Park of No. 602 South Throckmorton street, at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, following an illness of some time. Mrs. Park was 73 years of age and had made her home in Sherman for the past 30 years or more. Funeral services will take place from the home of Mrs. W.N. Butridge, daughter of the deceased, at No. 1103 South Maxey street at 3:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Dr. T.A. Wharton, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. Besides her husband, and her daughter, Mrs. Park is survived by a son, S.R. Park, of Denison. These will have the sympathy of all in their sorrow. Mrs. Park was a native of Ireland, but had lived in America for many years, and had made her home in Sherman for more than a quarter of a century. She was a woman well esteemed and respected by all who knew her, and news of her death was cause for much sorrow among her large circle of friends. Park of this city, was laid to rest in West Hill Cemetery Sunday afternoon, following funeral services at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.N.Butridge, conducted by Dr. T.A. Wharton. Mrs. Butridge was the daughter of the deceased. There were many beautiful flowers expressing the high esteem in which Mrs. Park was held by her friends and neighbors.
