The Denison Daily Herald Wednesday, September 12, 1906 pg. 3 NECROLOGICAL Sherman, Texas, September 12 - After a long and painful illness Harry Phillips died yesterday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock at his home on North East street from a complication of diseases. The funeral services were conducted this afternoon at 3 o'clock from the residence by Rev. B. Wrenn Webb, pastor of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The remains were interred in West Hill Cemetery. The decedent was a native of England, but he had resided in Sherman for more than 30 years. For more than 28 years he has been chief engineer for the Sherman Ice Company. He leaves besides his wife, 5 children, as follows: Mrs. W.R. Kimball, Miss Mary Phillips, Tom and John Phillips of Sherman and Lonnie Phillips of Shreveport, Louisiana. The latter was at his father's bedside with the other members of the family when the end came. The decedent was a member of Sherman Lodge No. 45, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Sherman Camp, No. 9; Woodmen of the World and Sherman Tent No.56, Knights of the Maccabees. The funeral services were participated in by all 3 of the orders. The Denison Daily Herald Saturday, October 20, 1906 pg. 3 NECROLOGICAL Sherman, Texas, October 20 - After a long and brave fight against an insid...disease, Mrs. John Phillips died at 3 o'clock this morning at the family residence on North East street. Mrs. Phillips was conscious to the end and even as death closed about her, waved kisses to members of the family at her bedside. The deceased was formerly Miss Vera Garland and was married several years ago to Mr. Philips. A husband and...small children survive her. Interment will be had in West Hill Cemetery tomorrow afternoon, following the funeral services at the residence.
