MRS. MILDRED ABRAMS DIES AT TEXARKANA
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Dannel Funeral Home for Mrs. Mildred Abrams, 86, long-time resident of Sherman, who died Friday night at Texarkana, Texas.  The Rev. Fred Hall, pastor, Central Christian Church will conduct.  Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be C. W. Bledsoe, Ralph Blackman, W. H. Foster, Buster Graves, Henry Jackson and Oren M. Dunham.
Mrs. Abrams was born April 13, 1877, at Belton, Texas.  She had lived in Sherman most of her life.  She moved to Texarkana 10 years ago.  She is the widow of Victor Abrams, who died in 1945.  She was a member of the Central Christian Church.
Surviving are a son, Norman H. Abrams of Dallas; and three daughters, Miss Aileen Abrams of Sherman, Mrs. E. R. Jones of Conroe and Mrs. H. H. Shifflett of Texarkana; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

EXCITEMENT AT GAME FATAL TO SHERMAN MAN
Victor Watson Abrams, 73 of 1114 North Cleveland, machinist for the Hardwicke-Etter Co., here and former machine foreman and machinist for the Frisco Railroad here, dropped dead of a heart attack about 4: 35 p.m. Thursday at the Sherman-Denison football game.
Mr. Abrams was sitting in the bleachers north of the north goal posts.  A Sherman physician was called and upon his arrival, pronounced the machinist dead.  Earlier in the fourth period, the Bearcats had driven to the one-yard line.  Shortly afterwards Mr. Abrams was stricken.
He was born in Missouri.  He was connected with the Frisco Railroad as a machinist for several years and served as a machine foreman from 1905 to 1907.  He was a member of the Central Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Norman H. Abrams of Waco; three daughters, Miss Alleen Abrams of Sherman, Mrs. H. H. Schifflett and Mrs. Ernest R. Jones of Monroe, La., and five grandchildren, including Harry H. Schifflett, who is with the field artillery in Japan.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the John C. Dannel Chapel with the Rev. Robert Bedgett, pastor of the Central Christian Church, officiating.  Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Jim Spangler, Bob Piner, Louis Fuller, Willard Casteel, Homer Dunn, Clyde Lucas, Randolph Cole, Monroe Jackson and Carl Pelley.
Mr. Abrams was born Sept. 5, 1872, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Abrams.  He and Mildred Vestal were married Oct. 20, 1896 in Sherman.  He had come to Sherman at the age of 10.
He had been a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge 48 years.
