 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas   Robert N. Evans 1922 - 1982 1st Lieutenant US Army WWII  Sherman- Graveside funeral services for Virginia Mae Evans will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday May 19 at West Hill Cemetery. Rev. Thomas Beall will officiate with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mrs. Evans passed away Sunday, May 16 in the Texoma Specialty Care Center at the age of 78. Virginia was born January 5, 1932 in Sherman to the late Elliot and Margaret (Mitchell) Dederick. She graduated from Sherman schools and worked for 29 years at General Telephone. Virginia was a longtime member of the East Sherman Baptist Church. Virginia married Robert Evans in 1979 in Sherman. Mrs. Evans is survived by her son, Michael C. Nelson and his wife Rachel of Denison; grandchildren, Steve Nelson and wife LeAnn of Denison and Amanda Edmiston of Sherman; five great-grandchildren, Mycah Nelson, Cassie Nelson, Stephen Nelson, Jr., Mason Branum, and Addison Branum.
