Shearer, 606 North Cleveland Avenue, has been visited by typhoid fever and this morning three members of the family lay shrouded for burial and another member lies near the threshold of death. Night before last Miss Jennie Shearer died, last evening a younger sister, Maudie, succumbed and at an early hour this morning George, aged 19, died. One year ago to-day the family came from Anderson county, South Carolina, and located here. Triple burial services were held at the First Presbyterian church and at West Hill cemetery this afternoon. The funeral cortege as it moved with its three hearses through the streets this afternoon was one of the saddest sights ever witnessed in this city. His death makes the fourth one among the Shearer children, three having died during the past 5 days, three having died within 24 hours of each other. Shearer in Sherman. Typhoid fever was the dread devastor of this happy family and it did its work awful and well. Wednesday evening before Miss Jennie died [sic]. A little later a younger sister succumbed and early the next morning a 19 year old brother closed his eyes in death. The funeral cortege as it moved through the streets was said to have been one of the saddest sights ever witnessed in Sherman.
