The key values for Fay and Vinson Shields have always been their family and their faith. They were elders at Grand Avenue Presbyterian Church. In addition to serving by preparing communion, they were very active in ministering to individuals in need. She also volunteered for the Sherman Literacy program and Home Hospice of Grayson County.
Fay was always gracious, gentle, friendly and charitable. As her own health declined she insisted on continuing to assist others. A cup of soothing hot tea was one of her pleasures, and she always had music in the home. She loved books and reading, and her children remember the importance she placed on the arts. She and Vinson enjoyed doing things with their grandchildren.
If desired memorials may be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County, P.O. Box 2306, Sherman, TX 75091.
