Death blamed on heart attack
A Sherman man was found dead Sunday morning after apparently suffering a heart attack while illegally dumping trash, an official said.
Justice of the Peace Charles Odle of Denison said George Weldon Ingram of 1712 N. Bents, a 59-year-old postal employee, "he found leaning against the back of his truck, illegally dumping trash" into a creek off Highway 82 and east of Frisco road.
"He had had a cardiac before," Odle said. adding he believes Ingram died of another cardiac.
"He (Ingram) had some rent property and I understood from McMillin (E.H. McMillin, owner of McMillin's Pawn Shop) said Ingram borrowed his pickup to dump some trash from his rent houses," Odle said.
Police responded to the call about 9:30 a.m. Sunday after being summoned by a caller.
Graveside services for Ingram will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in West Hill Cemetery.  Rev. Ed Welsh of North Park Baptist Church will officiate.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
Ingram was born in Whitewright, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Ingram, and married Edith Tally on Sept. 5, 1947 in Sherman.
Ingram was a rural mail carrier for the Sherman Post Office for 40 years and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, International Knife Collectors Association and Whitewright Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife; son, Brian Ingram of Coppell; daughters, Teresa Ingram and Annette Copeland, both of Austin; brother, Ardell Ingram of Wichita Falls; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Weldon Walker, G.C. Capps, Melvin McMillin, Carl Payne, Gene Holcomb and Tony Coley.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday and other times at the residence.
