 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas  Rowena Lee Bentley 22 February 1907 - 9 August 1991 Richard Ellis Bentley, Jr. 16 April 1905 - 18 February 1991 wed 29 May 1924  Sherman Democrat Sunday, August 11, 1991 ROWENA BENTLEY Services for Rowena Lee Ezell Bentley, 84, of Route 3, Denison, who died Friday in Country Manor Nursing Home, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Rev. James W. Garrard of the church will officiate. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home. Mrs. Bentley was born in Jena, La., the daughter of Anthony Houston Ezell and Julia Anne Hills Ezell, and was a graduate of Sherman schools. She attended Kidd-Key College. She married Robert E. Bentley Jr. on May 19, 1924, in Sherman. Mr. Bentley died Feb. 18, 1991. Mrs. Bently was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Opti Mrs. Club and a life member of the Parent Teacher Association. She had lived in the area for 65 years. Surviving are he son, Robert Ellis Bentley of Denison; daughters, Mrs. Robert (Julia Anne) Furr and Sallie Sue Caylor, both of Denison, and Mrs. Joseph (Betty Lee) Joiner of Houston; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family will be at the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Pallbearers will be J.B. Allen, Sam Jeffrey, Pete Murrin, Raymond Dean Jr., Harvey Snyder and Robert Bush. Memorials may be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 401 S. Crockett, Sherman, Texas 75090.
