Dr. George F. Brown, Physician Here for 39 Years, Dies Suddenly Dr. George F. Brown, Sherman physician for 39 years and a member of the Medical and Surgical clinic here for the last 10 years, died at his residence, 1119 South Crockett Tuesday at 9 a.m. Funeral services are under the direction of the Dannel-Scott Funeral home. Services will be held at the residence at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Dr. Roy H. Biser, pastor of the Central Christian church is to officiate. Burial will be at West Hill cemetery. Dr. Brown had been ill with heart disease since Christmas. A short time ago he was considered improving and death Tuesday morning was sudden. He left his bed Tuesday morning and told his wife that he was going to the second floor of their new home to see those rooms for the first time since the family moved there recently. A heart attack came suddenly while he was in a bath room and he died within a few minutes. Dr. Brown was born in Rockwood, Tenn., March 1, 1870. He was a graduate of Tennessee University and Bellvue Medical college in New York. He received his fellowship in the American Medical Society from the New York school in 1897 and came to Sherman to begin practice that year. He practiced in Sherman for 39 years, during which time he was associated with the late Dr. C.E. Schenck for 14 years before joining the Medical and Surgical clinic. He was a member of the Central Christian church. Dr. Brown's father fought in the Civil War and his great-great-grandfather fought in the Revolutionary and Indian wars. Survivors include his widow and a daughter, Miss Enna Frances Brown and two brothers, Will and Tom Brown, both of Fort Worth.
