SHERMAN
- Nina Lou Davis Doggett of Sherman, 64- year-old retired employee of
Texas Instruments, passed away at her home Monday evening, Nov. 3,
2008. Services
will be 10 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2008 in the Waldo Funeral Home
Chapel. Randy Mathis and Terry Garrison will officiate and the burial
will follow at West Hill Cemetery. Nina
was born August 27, 1944 in Dorchester, the daughter of W. T. Schroder
and Loretta Allred Schroder. She attended Sherman public schools and
graduated from Sherman High School in 1963. She began a career with
Texas Instruments soon after graduating from high school, first at the
TI plant in Richardson and then at the Sherman plant after it was
built, retiring after more than forty years of service. Most recently
she had worked at the SISD administration office. She married Edgar L.
"Buddy" Doggett, Jr. on October 3, 1964 in Sherman. Nina
was a very caring person who would go out of her way to help someone,
whether she knew them or not. She loved to crochet and she would often
give clothing and food to anyone who was in need. She especially loved
to work in her yard and kept a beautiful lawn, garden and grew lovely
flowers. She
is survived by her husband Ed Doggett Jr. of Sherman; son, Eddie
Doggett and his wife Shannon of Sherman; daughter, Debra Hix and her
husband Tommy of Sadler; brother, Billy Schroder and his wife Chanta of
Killeen, Texas; sister-in-law, Joyce Davis of Sherman; six
grandchildren, Donnie Hix, Timothy Hix, Jessica Hix, Ryan Doggett,
Elizabeth Doggett and LauraBeth Cross; one great-granddaughter, Baylee
Hix. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Wayne
Davis . Pallbearers will be Donnie Hix, Timmy Hix, Jay Wells, Kent Wheeler, Ricky Hayes and Charles Hines. The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. Thursday at Waldo Funeral Home. Memorial donations in memory of Nina may be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County, P.O. Box 2306, Sherman, TX 75091.
Funeral services for Edgar Lee "Buddy" Doggett Jr, age 66,
of Sherman, TX will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 30, 2010 at
the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the West Hill Cemetery
in Sherman. Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
Buddy passed away on Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Texas Health
Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ.
He was born on May 16, 1944 the son of Edgar Lee Doggett Sr. and
Evelyn Lester Doggett. He graduated from Sherman High School and later
graduated from the University of Houston. Buddy married Nina Lou Davis
on October 3, 1964 in Sherman, TX. She preceded him in death on November
3, 2008. In the 1970s he became a reserve officer with Grayson County Sherriff
Department and later served as Captain of the reserve officers for several
years before becoming a Jailor. After serving as Jailor he continued his
education and got his Master Peace Officer License. Buddy was involved
in several forms of racing for several years. He was a member of the Center
Street Church of Christ in Sherman.
Buddy is survived by his daughter,Debra Hix and husband Tommy of
Sadler, TX, son, Edgar Lee Doggett, III and wife Shannon of Sherman, TX,
five grandchildren Don Thomas Hix, III, Timothy Wayne Hix, Jessica LeaAnn
Hix, Elizabeth Grace Doggett and Ryan Wayne Doggett, one great grandchild,
Baylee Hix, two sisters, Judy Doggett of Sherman, T and Yvonne Henson of
Denison, TX. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Family night will be held on Wednesday, September 29th from 7:00
to 9:00 PM at Waldo Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Wayne Hix, Jay Wells and the Grayson
County Sherriff Department officers.
