Thompson 1892 - 1948 Sherman Daily Democrat Sunday May 21, 1922 CHILD DIES FROM TETANUS SATURDAY P.M. Stuck Splinter Through Foot While Crossing Bridge A Week Ago J. C. Thompson Jr., five-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, 515 East Evergreen street, died at the home of his parents at 5:30 Saturday afternoon from tetanus, resulting from poisoning which set in after the child stuck a splinter through his foot last week. The accident occurred a week ago Thursday as the child was walking across a wooden bridge on Evergreen street. Lockjaw developed two days before death occurred. Mr. Thompson is a fireman for the Frisco, and has lived in Sherman three years, coming here from Southmayd, where the child was born. The boy was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Thompson. Funeral services will be held from the home Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock, follwed by burial in West Hill cemetery.
