Sherman Democrat January 28, 1949 Funeral services for Luther E. Dodd, 66, who died at his home at Hico Tuesday, were held at Hico Friday at 11 a. m. Graveside services were held at West Hill Cemetery, here at 4 p. m. The Rev. Ed R. Barcus, pastor of Travis Street Methodist Church, conducted. Dannel Funeral Home was in charge. Survivors include: Two daughters, four sons, six brothers. Sherman Democrat August 27, 1939 Mrs. Luther E. Dodd of San Angelo died Thursday night, at the home of her brother, R. E. Horn, who is a resident, there. She had been in ill health for months. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p. m. at the Talley funeral home. Burial will follow in West Hill cemetery. Mrs. Dodd was born April 6, 1886, in Tennessee, a daughter of N. T. and Willie Horn. She had been a resident of Granbury for many years up until four months ago when she was taken to the home of her brother. Surviving are her husband; four sons, Travis Dodd of Kansas City, Mo., Luther Dodd Jr. of O'Donnell, Raymond Dodd of Tolar, Texas and Robert Dodd of Odessa; two daughters, Mrs. L. R. Munsell of San Saba and Mrs. Thomas Roger of Roswell, N. M.; a brother, R., Horn; and four" sisters, Mrs. Ada Daniels of Sherman, Mrs. Addie Hutton of Collinsville, Mrs. Colie Hill of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Sadie Leverett of Houston. Sherman Democrat September 17, 1965 Rites Saturday For Retired Railroader Graveside services will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday in West Hill Cemetery here for W. O. Dodd, retired general chairman of the Brotherhood of Railroad Conductors and Trainmen, who died Wednesday in a Tulsa, Okla. hospital. Rev. A. W. Blaine, pastor of North Park Baptist Church, and Rev. George W. Hill, pastor of Twin City Baptist Church, will conduct the services. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a. m. Saturday in Tulsa. Mr. Dodd had been a Frisco Railroad employee. He formerly lived in Sherman and was a member of the North Park Baptist Church. In 1929 he married Mrs. Florence Jones here. They moved to Tulsa in 1949. Survivors besides his wife are two sons, Bill Dodd Jr. of Abilene and Bryon Dodd of Springfield, Mo.; a daughter, Mrs. A.L. Peacock of Arlington; a step-son, Roy D. Jones of Sherman; a brother, Hulen Dodd of Kansas City, Kan.; and several grandchildren. Dodd, formerly of Sherman, who died Wednesday in a Tulsa, Okla., hospital. Rev. A. W. Blaine, pastor of North Park Baptist Church will conduct the services. The services were erroneously announced for Saturday in the Friday issue of the Sherman Democrat. Mr. Dodd was a retired Frisco Railroad worker, and had been general chairman of the Brotherhood of Railroad Conductors and Brakemen Mrs. W.O. Dodd to be Buried at Sherman Special to The News Sherman, Texas, June 2 - Mrs. Leona Dodd, 38, wife of W.O. Dodd of 503 Evergreen street, died Saturday in a hospital at Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 from the North Park Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Claude Johnston, pastor. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. The body arrived here from Wichita Falls Saturday afternoon. Besides her husband, she is survived by three children, Miss Maudene Dodd, Billie Dodd and Bryon Lee Dodd of this city; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N.W. Roach of Turkey; and three brothers and three sisters. These are Tom Roach of La Verne, Oklahoma; Oran Roach, Bert Roach, and Miss Alta Roach of Turkey; Mrs. Ethel Gardner of Ada, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Lucille Reynolds of Seminole. Mrs. Dodd was born in Hunt County and after living in Oklahoma for several years, moved here where she had lived for the past thirteen years.
