Eubank 23 May 1934 - 31 January 2009 The Herald Democrat February 2, 2009 On Jan. 31, 2009, Genee Carter Demers Eubank was called home by her daddy to be with the Lord. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by her loving family. Services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman. Officiating will be her grandson, Pastor Robert Montgomery of Victory Assembly of Carrollton. Burial will follow at West Hill Cemetery. Genee was the eldest of four children, born May 23, 1934, to Creta Gentle Carter and Alice Marguerette Brown in Sherman. She graduated from Sherman High School in 1952, where she was a proud member of the SHS Band. She spent many years involved in the PTA, Cub Scouts, Camp Fire, and was a dedicated member of the Sherman Ex-Student Alumni Association. While raising her four children she graduated from Grayson County College and the University of Texas at Dallas, where she received a Bachelor of Science in 1979. She was very proud, that in her opinion, she was one of the world's oldest college freshmen at the age of 40. After many years of working as an auditor for the IRS and Department of Defense, she retired and moved to Chandler where she opened a CPA practice. Nanny created many wonderful memories traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by husband H.K. "Pat" Eubank and former husband Joseph A. Demers; children, Theresa Trice, Joey Demers and wife Tricia, and Melinda Demers, all of Sherman; Dan Eubank of Van Alstyne, James Eubank and wife Gina of McKinney, Tim Eubank of Palestine, and Danielle Sutherland of Dallas; grandchildren, Jennifer Trice of Sherman, Michelle Montgomery and husband Robert of Carrollton, Melissa Trice of Sherman, Kerry Shelton and wife Lillliana of Springdale, Ark., Sarah Gunter and husband Fred, Lindsay Parks and husband Dave, Brandon Eubank of Austin, Blake Eubank of McKinney, Taylor Eubank of Oklahoma City, Adrian and Olivia Demers of Sherman; nine great-grandchildren, including one on the way. She is also survived by her brother Charles Carter of Sherman and numerous relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Lynn and Robert Carter both of Sherman. Pallbearers will be Scott Carter, Kerry Shelton, Andy Trice, Fred Gunter, Axel Alvaradu, and Jeff Baron. Honorary pallbearers will be Adrian Demers and Gary Shaw.
