Bowen 20 February 1932 Aged 40 Yrs Private 1CL 1st Infantry "Killed in WWI" (This statement on his military tombstone is in error) Corsicana Daily Sun Saturday, February 20, 1932 pg. 3 THREE KILLED; MANY INJURED IN BUS CRASH Mohawk, Arizona, February 20 (AP) - Three persons were killed today and possibly 14 were injured when an independent line bus telescoped the rear end of a parked tank line and trailer 5 miles west of Mohawk. The dead: Miss Alvin Alexander, en route from Los Angeles to Phoenix; T. F. Bowen, enroute from Los Angeles to Phoenix; and Joyce McLasty, enroute from Los Angeles to Dallas. Bowen, one of 3 passengers killed in a collison of a passenger bus and an oil tank truck near Mohawk, Arizona, Saturday morning, was a brother of C.V> Bowen, who lives east of Clovis, it was learned this morning. Bowen was enroute here from Los Angeles for a visit with his brother. Authorities in Mohawk have been ordered to ship his baggage to Clovis. The body will be shipped to Sherman, Texas, his home, for burial. Three passengers were killed and 14 were injured in the accident. Reports said the tank truck had stopped and a tire was being repaired when the big stage loomed out of the early morning mist and smashed into it. The bus was east bound from California.
