Dayton Miller, 76, for forty years
a photographer in Denison, a son of J.K. Miller, a founder of Denison, died at
his home at Ft Worth Saturday morning at 2 o'clock, according to word
received by Denison relatives.
Surviving are:
two daughters, Miss Maud Miller, Ft Worth, and
Mrs. Margaret Pace of Beaumont;
six sons, I. E. and Luther Miller, Denison;
Cecil Miller, Beaumont; Bert Miller, Sherman; and Sidney and Clyde Miller, Ft
Worth; two sisters, Mrs. Jim Rowland and Mrs. Frank
Jennings, Denison; and three brothers, J. N. Miller, Denison; George
Miller, El Paso; and Ben Miller, Marlin.
After forty years as a
photographer in Denison, Mr. Miller moved to Sherman a decade or so ago, where
he continued in the same profession three years. After the death of his wife at
Sherman, he moved to Ft Worth, where he spent the last few years associated
with his daughter, Miss Maud Miller, in the photography business.
Mr. Miller's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
J.K. Miller, were pioneer residents of Denison and figured prominently in the
development of the embryo city. J.K. Miller was the owner of considerable real
estate here, and today there are several city additions named in his honor.
While funeral arrangements had not
been announced late Saturday, it was thought probable that the body would be
returned to Sherman for interment beside his wife. Mr. Miller was a member of
the Baptist Church.
