 Billy Joe Roper 23 June 1931 - 22 May 1954 Services
will be at 3 p.m. Monday in the Dannel and Horton Funeral Chapel for
Mrs. Mae Leoma Roper, 83, a former Sherman resident who died Friday in
an Arlington hospital following an extended illness. Rev. R.M.
Williams of the East Sherman Baptist Church will officiate and burial
will be in West Hill Cemetery. Born in Cumberland, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of R.O. and Etta Mae Stone Gregory. She moved to this area at an early age and attended area schools and Kidd-Key College. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by sons, W.D. Roper of Bedford; Robert O. Roper of Bethany, Oklahoma; James E. Roper of Compass Lake, Florida; and Bobby Wayne Roper of Houston; a daughter, Mrs. Peggy Flynn of Corsicana; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
