 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas  Paul David Carter 1927 - 2014  Funeral services for Virginia Nell Carter were held Sunday afternoon, December 2, 2018 at Waldo Funeral Home. Burial followed Monday morning at West Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Carter passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at Christus Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview. Virginia was born August 28, 1930 in Gunter, daughter of Gus and Effie Gaskin Gaddie. On September 18, 1948 Virginia and Paul Carter were married in Sherman. They were married 66 years when Paul passed away in November 2014. Mrs. Paul worked with Paul at the insurance agency in the 1970s. She was a talented artist and enjoyed cooking for people. She was a longtime member of the Western Heights Church of Christ, former Board Member of Community National Bank, and former member of the Shakespeare Club, the Red Hat Club, PTA, City Council PTA, SMA Singers, and Business and Professional Women. Mrs. Carter is survived by her son, David Carter and wife, Terry, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; daughter, Elaine Carter-Cowart and husband, Johnny, of Hawkins, Texas; 5 grandchildren, John McBee of Longview; Katy Roberts and husband, Bryan, of McKinney; Paul McBee of Longivew; Julie Carter of Denver; and Laura Carter of Littleton; 5 step-grandchildren, Kelly, Nathan, Joseph, Hope and Joy Cowart; and 3 great-grandchildren, Parker, Hayes and Lily Roberts. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Grady Gaddie and his wife, Betty; and 2 sisters, Mary Louise Stinebaugh and husband, A.L.
