Her home was at 716 East Brockett, Sherman. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Dannel-Scott funeral chapel, with Dr. Walter Barr, pastor of the Travis Street Methodisst church, officiating, assisted by Dr. L. L. She moved to Sherman from Tennessee in 1882 and had made her home here since that time. She was married Oct. 22, 1893 to Joseph L. Cobb at Sherman. Mr. Cobb died Nov. 13, 1913. She was a member of the Travis Street Methodist church. She is survived by one son, Berry Cobb of Dallas, and two grandchildren, also of Dallas. A musician of state-wide reputation, Mrs. Cobb maintained a studio for piano, voice and harmony at her home. She also directed the College Hill Choral club and sponsored two federated junior clubs among her pupils. She was a pinao pupil of Phillip Tronitz, a certificate pupil in voice under the late Sarah Holt Versel and coached voice with the late Louis Versel. She was an elective member of the executive board of the Texas Federation of Music clubs, a past chairman of the department of philanthropy, past presidet of the second district of music clubs and a past historian of the Bomar Cramer Music club. The above clipped from the Sherman Democrat, will be of interest to plenty of mourning friends in the Van Alstyne and east adjacent communities for this reason: Back yonder in the early 80's, the deceased was a teacher in the Centenial Institute, now the Cannon school. John A. Cobb was the president; his brother, Joseph L. Cobb was assistant; Miss Julia nd Miss Hattie Benson were assistants in English, History and Music. At that time, this school was the biggest, best, and most popular school in North Texas, save, and except, that taught by Capt. J. H. LeTellier of Sherman. The large boarding house standing by, was filled with pupil boarders from Sherman, McKinney, Greenville, Fort Worth, Dallass, and all the other smaller towns, in several adjoinging counties. The deceased's pupils at that time were the younger Cannons, Caraways, Binions, Thompsons, Milams, and so on, a long list of them; and many of the grade children of her pupils are scattered still, throughout this community. The two brothers, John A. Cobb and Joseph L. Cobb, married the two sisters, Julia and Hattie Benson.
