Coalgate, Oklahoma Thursday, April 26, 1923 pg. 1 MRS. THREADGILL IS CALLED TO HER REWARD Mrs. Clara M. Threadgill, wife of C.M. Threadgill, for a number of years residents of this city, passed away Sunday morning at 11:30 at St. Anthony's hospital in Oklahoma City. Mrs. Threadgill was born in Springfield, Missouri, in 1877 and was 46 years of age. She was united in marriage to Judge Threadgill on May 16, 1907 in Muskogee and from there they moved to Atoka, where they resided several months, then came on to Coalgate and resided here until 2 weeks ago, when they removed to Oklahoma City where Judge Threadgill had secured an appointment from Gov. Walton as one of the commissioners of t he state supreme court. Deceased had been suffering for several months, the result of an attack of t he flu during the month of March 1922 and after her trip to Oklahoma City seemed to be improving for a few days but alarming symptoms appeared last Thursday from which time she rapidly declined until the end came. Optimistic in her temperament she lived a beautiful life among the people form whom she had received many tokens of kindness and appreciation while ill. Mrs. Threadgill was a devoted member of the M.E. Church, South, of this city, and had lived a noble as well as useful life. Besides her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Jack Tingle, of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Ida Alten, city; one brother, Lee Elzey of Dallas; and other relatives and numerous friends survive to mourn the loss of one who was much beloved. The remains were shipped to Sherman, Texas Sunday night and the funeral services were held at the Methodist church there Monday and interment was made by the side of her mother and father in their family burying ground at Sherman.
