Ahlers Dies From Burns Funeral services for Mrs.O.C. Ahlers, 54, sister of Mrs. David Mims, Mrs. C.M. Roberts and Mrs. Nettie Miller Holmes of this city, were held at the family home in Sherman, Texas, Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Ahlers, victim of the Denison, Texas, explosion last Wednesday when the automobile in which she was riding collided with a butane truck, died in a Sherman hospital Friday morning as a result of severe burns sustained. Her death raised the number of persons fatally injured to ten. Wife of the late Dr. O.C. Ahlers, prominent eye-ear-nose and throat doctor of Sherman, Mrs. Ahlers is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Mims, Mrs. Roberts, Mrs. Holmes, all of Minden, and Mrs. F.M. Scott, of Oakdale, and Mrs. J.O. Cupples, Shreveport. She was born and reared in Minden and was the daughter of the late Mrs. and Mrs. Jim Miller of this city. Other occupants of the car in which Mrs. Ahlers was riding were Mr. and Mrs. John Marshall of Sherman, and Mrs. R.B. Marshall of Dallas. Mrs. and Mrs. Marshall also succumbed to injuries and the condition of Mrs. R.B. Marshall was reported to be critical at the time this report was received.
