West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas George Able 1872 - 1936 Mrs. Callie Able 1872 - 1918 Annie M. Avrea 1892 - 1963 former wife of Geo. Able Sherman Democrat April 7, 1936 pg 9 George A. Able George A. Able, 63, a resident of Sherman since childhood, diedd at 12:30 p.m. at a local hospital following an illness of three weeks. Mr. Able, a contractor, resided at 1307 East Houston. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday from the Key Memorial Methodist church, with the Rev. Keener R. Isbell, pastor, officiating. Assisting ministers will be Dr. Conway T. Wharton, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, the Rev. J. W. Slagle of Dallas and the Rev. Ben Bell of Van Alstyne. Burial will be at West Hill cemetery with the Dannel-Scott Funeral home in charge. Mr. ABle was born April 15, 1872, near Springfield, Ill., and came to Sherman 60 years ago. He was a member of the Key Memorial church and had served as church steward for 25 years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie Able of Sherman; two sons, Cecil Able of Dallas and Guy Able of Sherman; one daughter, Mrs. Cecil Delphin of Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Orr of Sherman and Mrs. Ike Tate of Durant, Okla; one brother, Edward Able of Ponca City, Okla, and two grandsons.
