 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas   Mary Ellen Connor 6 September 1935 - 6 October 2019 Eugene M. Connor 1 January 1933 - 31 May 2002  Mary Ellen Connor, 84, of Bells, Texas, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019 at the home of her daughter, Patricia Smith. Mary was born September 6, 1935 in Buffalo, New York, daughter of John J. and Elaine N. Duff. Mary had 3 brothers, John, Thomas, and Phillip and one sister, Elaine (Eck). After high school at Grover Cleveland in Buffalo, Mary worked in the banking industry. At the conclusion of the Korean War, Mary met Eugene "Gene" M. Connor who had served with her brother, Thomas. Gene and Mary married November 24, 1956 in Williamsville, New York. Mary and Gene had 7 children, Karen, William, Susan, Robert, Sandra, Diane and Patricia. In August 1978 Mary and Gene moved to Texas where they lived in many cities including Frisco, Allen, Denison, and Sherman. Mary moved to Bells, Texas in 2009. She worked for Goodwill Industries of Northeast Texas in Sherman for 32 years, from 1985 until her retirement at 82 in 2017, performing payroll and accounting activities. Mary Ellen was an avid reader. Her favorite genres were historical romance and mystery. She also enjoyed watching mysteries and Agatha Christie's Miss Marple series was a perrenial favorite. Mary Ellen and 11 grandchildren, Crystal Geary, Michelle Connor, Jennifer Elmore, William Connor, Elizabeth Allgood, Jessica Tiedt, Patrick Connor, Jaime Littrell, Alyssa Hoover, Cheyanne Connor and Austin Connor; 8 great-grandchildren, Ashlie Connor, Reanna Geary, Gavin Connor, Erin Allgood, Hunter Connor, Audrey LIttrell, Eli Allgood, and Natasha Littrell. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Susan; grandson, William; and siblings, John, Elaine, Thomas and Phillip. Interment was at West Hill Cemetery on Thursday afternoon, October 10, 2019.
