Ashford 10 October 1920 - 12 March 1993 Staff Sergeant US Army Air Corps WWII Sherman Democrat Sunday, October 18, 1990 pg A12 Paul Hunter Ashford, 72-year-old retired carpenter, formerly of Sherman, died Friday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dublin, Ga. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Flesher Funeral Chapel in Van Alstyne with the Rev. Leon Martin officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. Mr. Ashford was born in Melissa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. K.L. Ashford. He was a World War II Army veteran. Surviving is his sister, Ola Meador of Warner Robins, Ga. The family will be at the funeral home in Van Alstyne from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today, and other times at the Jerry Englutt residence in Kemp, Okla.
