West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas Floyd Baker Shaver 23 December 1919 - 13 March 1993 Master Sergeant US Air Force WWII, Korea The Herald Democrat June 10, 2013 Sherman - Services for Ruby Arlene Shaver, 87, of Sherman who passed from this life on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Texoma Medical Healthcare Nursing Center were held Tuesday morning, June 11, 2013 at Dannel Funeral Chapel in Sherman. Rev. Danny Wood of West Sherman Baptist Church officiated with burial following in West Hill Cemetery. Ruby Arlene Shaver was born December 20, 1925 in Lindale, Texas, daughter of Bonnie Bell Starnes and John Edgar Wood. Ruby Arlene married Floyd Baker Shaver December 24, 1944 in Sherman and lived in Sherman for 60 years. She worked as a child care professional for many years, as a Den Mother in the local Cub Scout organization, taught a 2nd grade Sunday School class and was very active in the Nursery and Missions programs at West Sherman Baptist Church where she was a member for many years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society while a resident at the nursing center. She is survived by her children, Johnny Shaver of Sherman; Tim Shave and wife, Maria, of Tom Bean; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Shaver, of Sherman; grandchildren, Zachary Shaver and wife, Cindy; Keaton Shaver and wife, Sally; Christina Shaver; Tony Shaver; James Garcia and wife, Jessica; great-grandchldren, Chloe, Emilee, Cash, Trinity, Alyssa, Owen and Samuel. She was preceded in death by her parents; hustband, and son, Tommy Shaver. Pallbearers were Zack Shaver, Keaton Shaver, James Garcia, Tim McKinney, James Huckabee, and Byrle White. Memorials may be made to the West Sherman Baptist Church, Children's Ministries, 1830 W. Washington, Sherman.
