Sherman Democrat November 9, 1981 A-15 Services for Mrs. Myrtle Bell Imbert of the Sherman Nursing Center, 87-year-old housewife formerly of 312 W. Moore St., who died Saturday at a Sherman hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Waldo Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jewerl Watkins and the Rev. Sid Hunter of Calvary Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Imbert was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.W.Stephenson and carried Carl D. Imbert on May 29, 1909 in Sherman. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving are her son, Charles D. Imbert of Sherman; daughter, Dorian Imbert of Sherman; brother, Arrie "Red" Dollison of Sherman; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Randy L. Green, Jim Stephenson, J.D.Stephenson, Jim Runnels, Melton Carpenter and Kenneth Walden. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday and other times at the Charles Imbert residence on Route 1, Sherman. Sherman Democrat December 12, 1945 Page 2 C. D. Imbert, Sherman Grocer, Dies Suddenly Carl Dennis Imbert, 56, life-time resident of Sherman and livestock, feed and grocery dealer, died at 9:30 a.m. today at his home, 312 West Moore, following a heart attack a day earlier. Funeral services are pending arrival of relatives, but will be conducted by Dr. J.A. Ellis, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial will be in the West Hill Cemetery directed by Talley Funeral Home. Mr. Imbert was born May 3, 1889 west of Sherman, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Imbert. He and Miss Myrtle Stephenson were married here in 1908. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. R.L.Todd and Miss Dorien Imbert of Sherman; a son, Charles D. Imbert, with the U.S. Navy in San Diego, Calif; three sisters, Mrs.T.A. Hill of Houston, Mrs. W.R. Pickle of Oil City, La., and Miss Gertrude Imbert of Houston; and a granddaughter, Marylyne Todd of Sherman. Sherman Democrat December 14, 1945 Funeral services for Carl Dennis Imbert, 56, Sherman groceryman who died Wednesday morning at his home, 312 West Moore, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church with Dr. J.A. Ellis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery, directed by Talley Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Bob Pennington, Harry Hudgins, Buddy Darter, Grover Knox, Edgar Peveto and Doc Knox. Mr. Imbert had been a member of the Woodmen of the World 25 years. Herald Democrat 6 June 2006 Charles Dennis Imbert passed from this life on Sunday, the 2nd day of June 2006, after a lengthy illness at the Olen Teague Veterans Hospital in Temple, Tx. He was the son of Carl D. and Myrtle Bell Imbert. He was born on Dec. 9, 1925 in Sherman, Texas. He was preceded in death by both his parents and wife, Dorothy McCollough Imbert, his 2 sisters, Dorien Imbert, and Iran Imbert Todd and brother-in-law, R.L. Todd. He is survived by 2 sons, Charles D. Imbert Jr., wife Missy and their children, Shelly and Charles D. Imbert III of Sherman; Mark, wife Peggy, and 2 granddaughters, of Krum, TX and 2 great-granddaughters; grand niece: Donna Boone and husband Rick of Denison and Debbie and Larry Green; and numerous cousins. He is also survived by many friends and many of his 1944 classmates. As long as his health permitted he was an active member of the SHS 44-45 Lunch Bunch. He attended Washington Elementary School and Sherman High School, graduating in 1944. He was a veteran, entering the Navy in Aug. of 1944, and serving as a patriot and warrior for the duration of WWII. He graduated from Aerial Gunnery School and Pre-flight school in Norman, Okla. After his Naval duty, Chuck returned to Sherman, going to work for Quaker Oats Company, where he worked in all plants in the engineering department all over North and South America for 29 years until his retirement. He then went to work for Brown and Root and Dow Chemical of Houston until his second retirement. Chuck then pursued his love for ranching, owning a ranch in Palestine, spending 15 years there with his friend and partner, Sarah Stimpson-Imbert. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse, American Angus, and American Hereford Asociations. During his early years, he enjoyed horseback riding, and rodeoing. He was a Charter Member of the Grayson Couty and 4H Wranglers in Sherman. He was a Mason, holding dual memberships in both Sherman and Howe. He received his 59 year Masonic pin from the Travis Lodge in Sherman. He was also a Scottish rite and a Shrine. He loved flying and held his private pilot's license until 1993, when he gave it up due to ill health. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sherman. Born Sept. 3, 1910, in Greenville, to Carl and Myrtle Imbert, she was a retired seamstress for Covey's Dress Shop, a practical nurse and a member of the Sherman First Baptist Church. Survivors include a brother, Charles of Sherman. The family will be at her brother's home, Route 1, Sherman.
