April 9, 1981 MRS. HESS' FATHER PASSES IN TEXAS Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hess of Arco returned Monday evening, April 6, 1981 from Sherman, Texas, where they attended the funeral of her father, Hughey P. Bishop, Jr, 67, who passed away April 1 in Sherman, Texas. Hughes P. Bishop was born at Hodge, Louisiana, December 14, 1913. He was employed with the Frisco Rairoad for 35 years before his retirement in 1977. He was also a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, serving as Secretary for 15 years. He was an avid golfeer and gardener before his illness with cancer. He was a member of the Forest Avenue Baptist Church in Sherman, Texas. Funeral services were held in Sherman, as well as burail, which was at the West Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Betty Bishop; daughters, Jan Hess of Arco, Idan; Huelene Chadwock of Chicago, Illinois; and Gail Gentry of Sherman; sons, Mr. Billy Bishop of of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; David Bishop of Beggs, Oklahoma; and Dickie Bishop of Euless, Texas. Friends and relatives from many places traveled to Sherman for the funeral. Gene and Jan Hess spent 2 days with Jan's mother before....
