MRS. DONALD MURPHY - Funeral services for Mrs. Donald Murphy
27, of Melrose, New Mexico and formerly of Sherman, were held at 4 p.m. Thursday
at the residence of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Blanton, 310 W. Middleton street. Dr.
O. T. Cooper of the Travis Street Methodist Church, assisted
by Rev. E. H. Crandall of the Key Memorial Methodist church,
officiated.
Interment was in Memorial Park. The Dannel-Scott company directed
arrangements. Mrs. Murphy died Wednesday morning at a local sanitarium
where she had been for about a week following an operation.
She lived here before her marriage, having been graduated from Sherman
High school and Kidd-Key college and having attended Austin college.
O. L. Blanton and Tom Blanton, brothers, are other survivors living in
Sherman besides the parents.
(Researcher's note: Mrs. Donald Murphy was the former Savilla
Aline Blanton. Texas death records indicate a twin, who either was
stillborn or died soon after birth, predeceased her. Other survivors unnamed
in the obit were sisters, Flora May
Blanton Lay and Nadine Blanton. Her deceased grandparents
were Thomas Jefferson Blanton and Elizabeth Jane Lock.)
