West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas Sherman Daily Register Wednesday, October 21, 1885 A SAD Death Mrs. Mollie E. Lankford, wife of Wm. Lankford, an esteemed citizen of Sherman, died at the residence of C.W. Brown on West Mulberry street last evening about seven o'clock. Although the death was preceded by but a short sickness, it was not unexpected. This, however, did not make it less of a shock to her large number of friends. Only a few days ago, Mrs. J.T. Cunningham, a sister of Mrs. Lankford passed away, and it is thought that the watchfulness exercised over her siser's sick bed hurried on the sad and untimely death last evening. She leaves no little ones behind to mourn the loss of a mother but a grief ladened husband is left to mourn the loss of a true and loving wife, a jewel of the household. The funeral services took place at the residence of C.W. Brown this afternoon at four o'clock, and were attended by a large number of friends who were anxious to show this last mark of respect for a most exemplary lady. The services were conducted by Rev. J. Moore, pastor of the first Presbyterian church. The Register extends its sympathies to the bereaved husband.
