Sherman – Mrs. Laura Daughety, 74, died at her home, 817 south Lincoln, Tuesday at midnight.  Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the North Park Baptist Church.  The Rev. Claude Johnston will officiate and burial will be in West Hill Cemetery under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.  The body will remain at 1117 North Porter until the services.

Pallbearers will be W.L. Vandagriff, T.M. Tolbert, J.J. Phares, J.H. Simons, J.C. Haggard and Herman Newton.
Mrs. Daughety was born April 17, 1873 in Cartersville, Ga., the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John Richards.  She married G.W. Daughety in Sherman on July 4, 1895.
Survivors are her husband; two sons; Earnest Daughety of Fort Worth and Richard Daughety of Sherman; three daughters; Mrs. George Locke and Mrs. B.F. Hagan of Sherman and Miss Faye Daughety of Dallas; four sisters, Mrs. J.H, Daughety and Mrs. Fannie Hefton of Sherman, Mrs. J.A. Creecy of Whitewright and Mrs. Ann Goff of Howe and five grandchildren.

G.W.  Daughety Dies Rites Set Thursday
Sherman – Funeral services will be held at 2:p.m. Thursday at the Waldo Funeral Chapel, for Mr.  George W. Daughety, 95, retired farmer of Grayson County, who died at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday at a Sherman Nursing Home after a long illness.  Services will be conducted by Rev A.W. Blaine, pastor of the North Park Baptist Church with burial at West Hill Cemetery, directed by Waldo Funeral Home.
Mr. Daughety was born Dec. 29, 1871 at Bowling Green, Ky., the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew J. Daughety.  He was married to Miss Laura Richards on July 4, 1895, in Sherman.  Mrs. Daughety died in 1947.  He had lived just south of Sherman and in Sherman most of his life.  He was a farmer, had been a custodian of the Forest Avenue Baptist Church and employed by the City of Sherman, retiring several years ago.  He was a member of the Forest Avenue Baptist Church

Survivors are a son, Earnest Lee Daughety of Fort Worth; three daughters, Mrs. Lena Locke, Mrs. Mae Hagan, and Mrs. F.D. Phillips all of Sherman; a sister Mrs. Lulu Lamb of Odessa;  five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jessie Helms, T.D. Bell, Carl Johnston, W.H. McClure, A.F. Sprowl and Gordon Duke.  The family plans to be at the Waldo Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.  When not at funeral home they will be at 623 N. Kessler.
