 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas  Billie Jones Vestal 22 April 1920 - 1 September 1999   The Herald Democrat January 16, 2011 Richard Horace Vestal, 91, of Rowlett, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2011. Dannel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Graveside services wiere held at noon on Monday, January 17 at West Hill Cemetery with Pastor Leland Samuelson officiating. Richard was born April 30, 1919 in Sherman to Olin W. and Lillian (Ogelsby) Vestal. After graduating from Sherman High School, he completed a B.S. degree at Rice University. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II at the rank of Captain. He married Billie Jane Jones and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage. In 1984, he retired from Cameron Iron Works after 36 years of service. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother, Jack Vestal. Survivors include 2 sons, William Steven Vestal of Rowlett and Richard H. Vestal and wife, Jane, of Ovilla; 2 grandchildren, Jack Vestal and wife, Melissa, of Rowlett and Rick Vestal and wife, Jennifer, of Portland; 5 great-grandchildren, Will and Sam Vestal of Rowlett, Brooke, Hunter and Harley Vestal of Portland; and 3 brothers, Charles Boyd of Tacoma, Washington, Gene Boyd and Ray Boyd of Richland, Missouri.
