Thursday, February 1, 1917 pg. 6 NEWS FROM THE COUNTY Dorchester, Jan. 29 - On the night of January 20th, Mrs. Sarah Hefley, wife of G.W. Hefley, died suddenly at the family home, one mile east Dorchester, Her death was quite a shock to her many friends and dear ones who are left to mourn the loss of a dear friend, a kind and loving mother, a dear sister and a faithful wife. Since the death of an only daughter, Mrs. John Nix, Mrs. Hefley was grief stricken and very seldom left her home, but always taking time to care for the little motherless boy, Hugh, and his little brothers and sisters and other dear ones. Mrs. Hefley had not been in good health for several months, but no one thought once that the end of life was so near. Thus it is that life is uncertain, but why grieve for one whose beautiful soul has crossed the bar and has met her Pilot face to face. How peaceful that passing and the waves could not have borne her far! "Such a tide as moving seems asleep to full for sound and foam," and then the meeting with her Pilot, who took her to live in the sunshine of the everlasting hills! Who could wish for a better Pilot than the blessed Christ or better company than the redeemed ones with whom your loved one rests? Weep not son, husband, brother and other bereaved ones. You will meet her where there is no pain or sorrow. West Hill Cemetery Elaine Nall Bay ©2013 If you find any of Grayson County TXGenWeb links inoperable, please send me a message. |
