At 10 o'clock Saturday morning Miss Ella Emmerson Peck passed quietly away at the home of her brother, J.F. Peck, 810 N. Walnut street.
Miss Peck had been ill several months, and her demise was imminent at most any hour for the past several weeks.  She bore her illness with exemplary patience and the light of her spiritual faith never dimmed.
When a school girl, Miss Peck made her home in Sherman with her brother and his family and was a student of Kidd-Key College.  Of tender, loving temperature, she easily made friends and had many in this city.  Nine years ago she transferred her residence to El Paso, where she was equally beloved as in Sherman.
Failing health induced her to return to her own several months ago and she has steadily declined, till the end came.
She was an affiliant of the Baptist church, loving and living for all its tenets.  The funeral took place from the residence with interment at West Hill.
