The Bonham Favorite January 6, 1917 pg.2 SHERMAN EDITOR DIED EARLY TODAY Nelson Dickerman of the Daily Democrat Passed Away at 6:30 O'clock From a gentleman on the morning T & P today the Favorite learns that Nelson Dickerman, city editor of the Sherman Daily Democrat, died this morning at 6:30. Mr. Dickerman had long been identified with the newspaper business in Sherman and was quite well known to the newspaper fraternity over the state. He was a brother-in-law of H.C. Hunter, managing editor of that paper, and had other relatives in Sherman where he had lived for many years. Deceased had been in ill health for several months. Sherman Daily Democrat Monday, January 8, 1917 pg. 5 Funeral Services under Auspices of Sherman Masonic Lodge of Which He was a Member Funeral services for J. Nelson Dickerman, news editor of the Democrat, who died early Saturday morning, were held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the residence, the Rev. B. Wrenn Webb, pastor of Grace Presbyterian church, presided and made a beautiful talk. Following this the members of Travis Lodge, No. 117, A.F. & A.M., took charge. At the ceremony J.T. Knott had charge of the services and the beautiful Masonic ritual was used. Many friends attended the funeral, and the floral offering was very beautiful.
