 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas  SHERMAN - Funeral services for Iva Jeane Blevins, 78, of Sherman will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2013, at Forest Avenue Baptist Church, Sherman, Texas. Rev. Brian Taylor of Forest Avenue Baptist Church will officiate with burial to follow at West Hill Cemetery. Services are under direction of Waldo Funeral Home. She passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Texas Health Presbyterian - WNJ. Iva Jeane was born on March 3, 1935 in Tioga, the daughter of Cecil and Retta Jane (Miller) Aaron. Iva Jeane married Cecil T. Blevins on July 19, 1950. She worked at Burlington Industries for 25 years until it closed in 1986, then she went to work at the Herald Democrat, and retired there as cashier after 28 years of service. She had been a member of Forest Avenue Baptist Church since 1956. Iva always said, "The Lord blessed my life by letting me teach in the Children's Dept. for 46 years. Through the years many people have taught me that when the Lord calls you to fill a position, He expects you to be responsible and dependable for whatever task He puts before you." She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Cecil; sons Larry G. and Marianne Blevins of Sherman and Gary L. and Paula Blevins of Fort Worth; daughter Sharon Ann and Robert Taylor of Sherman; grandchildren Beau and Jennifer Blevins of Dallas; Bryan and Kcee Blevins of Frisco; Mark and Lindsey Blevins of Sherman; Leigh Ann and Jeremy Earnhart of Van Alstyne; Melody Ann and Juan Avila of Sherman; 5 great-grandchildren, Brynn and Paisley Blevins, Flick and Banjo Blevins, and Ian Avila; sisters Joretta and Bob Garvin of Whitesboro, Sandra and Tim McKinney of Sherman; sisters-in-law, Sue Aaron of Houston; Judy Bolivar of Denton; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Cecil and Retta Aaron; brothers, Billy Aaron of Houston; and Cecil W. Aaron of Denton. Serving as pallbearers will be Beau Blevins, Bryan Blevins, Mark Blevins, Leigh Ann Earnhart, Jeremy Earnhart, Melody Avila, Juan Avila, and Robert Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Kcee Blevins, Lindsey Blevins, and Jennifer Blevins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Iva Jeane's name to the Forest Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund.
