November 16, 1923 pg 17 Mrs. R. J. (Annette) Cunningham Dies at Sherman Special to the News Sherman, Texas, Nov. 15 - Mrs. Robert J. Cunninham, 82 years old, a resident of Sherman for over fifty years, died at her home, 700 North Crockett Street, at 9 o'clock Thursday morning after an illness of about five hours. Mrs. Cunningham was born at Liberty Hill, South Carolina on February 14, 1842. She was married to Robert James Cunningham in 1860 and came with her husband to Texas in 1872, locating at Sherman. Surviving Mrs. Cunningham are 3 daughters and a son - Mrs. George Hardwicke, Mrs. W. J. Richardson and Miss Annie Chapman of Sherman and R. R. Cunningham of Hanford, California. Arrangements for the funeral services are being delayed pending word from Mr. Cunningham.
