Wright 19 February 1926 - 7 March 1986 MM3 US Navy WWII Sherman Democrat West Hill CemeteryMarch 9, 1986 D7 DENISON - Funeral for Vernon Aubrey Wright, 60, of 407 N. 9th, who died Friday at his home following a lengthy illness, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman. The American Legion will conduct military graveside rites. The Rev. Bob Stevens will officiate. Bratcher Funeral Home is in charge. Wright was a past commander of the American Legion and held many posts in that organization for multiple years. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Elks and Moose Lodges, and a member of the Baptist church. He was a mechanic and a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy. He was born in Martinsville, Feb.19, 1926, the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Wright. He attended Dallas Schools. Survivors are two sons, Gary and Russell of Dallas; three brothers, Neal and David of Dallas, and Leonard of Los Angeles; two sisters, Mrs. Theisa McGueen and Mrs. Helen Edwards of Dallas. Pallbearers will be B. J. Johnson, Bill McKinney, Travis Rutherford, Clelan Lance, Gerald Armstrong and Clyde Powers.
