West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas Ruby Jordan Doudney 1895 - 1917 Infant Doudney 1917 The Sherman Courier Wednesday, October 3, 1917 pg. 8 IN TRIBUTE In calling from dear ones, Mrs. Ruby Doudney of Shawnee, Oklahoma, nee Ruth Jordan of this city, Death took one of the loveliest young women lent to eart, and it was most fit that the pall bearers for the sad occasion were chosen from among former schoolmates of this city - Misses Ruby, Maxine and Eva Simmons, Mrs. Mabel Lair of Anna, Miss Eva Forrest of Tom Bean, Miss Annie Pierce, Miss Marguerite Phillips, and Miss Fannie Bray. The funeral services, conducted by Rev. Truett of Whitewright, and Rev. Money and Rev. Hollums of Denison, at the First Bpatist Church Monday afternoon, were fitly full of expressions of appreciation of the noble young life just ended at the early age of 22 and the nobler part of that life which could never come to a close. Surviving Mrs. Doudney are her husband, Charley Doudney of Shawnee; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Jordan of west of this city; three brothers and a sister in California who could not be present.
