Sherman Democrat December 6, 1955 pg.3 Funeral services for Albert L. Watson, 61, a former Sherman resident, will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in Dannel Funeral Chapel. Watson died Monday in Waco of a heart attack. He was born in Van Alstyne March 30, 1894. Following funeral services at 9 a.m. in Waco, the body will be returned to Sherman where Rev. Robert L. Badgett, pastor of Central Christian Church will officiate at services. Members of Travis Lodge 117, of which Watson had been a member, will act as pallbearers and conduct Masonic graveside rites at interment in West Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. A.L. Watson of Waco; a daughter, Mrs. Bill Harper, Albuquerque, New Mexico; three sons, Joe L. Watson, Midland; Dale Watson, Pasadena; and Raymond Watson, Waco; four sisters, Mrs. A.S. Buford, McKinney; Mrs. L.A. Walker, Van Alstyne; Miss Janie Watson and Miss Millie Watson, both of Sherman; two brothers, C.R. Watson, Sherman and J.F. Watson, Weatherford, Oklahoma. Sherman Democrat February 1, 1940 Funeral services for Mrs. Albert L. Watson of Temple, a former Sherman resident, were held Friday at 4 p.m. at the Central Christian church with Dr. Homer A. Strong, pastor, officiating. Interment was in West Hill Cemetery directed by Dannel-Scott. Mrs. Watson was born and reared in Sherman, and before her marriage was the former Miss Josephine McKnight. Her husband was line foreman for the Texas Power and Light company here before being transferred to Temple in the same capacity in late 1936. Survivors include her husband; four children, A.L., Jr., La Verne, Dale and Jo Ann, all of the home; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Mason of Denison and two brothers, J.C. McKnight of Sherman and V.R. McKnight of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Pallbearers were O.R. Gresham, J.T. Long, John Phillips, O.H. Robinson, V.D. Moss, A.E. Watson, J.C. Noble and J.R. Jones. Watson, Jr., 21, husband of Mrs. Dorothy Watson of Temple, who was killed on Luzon May 6, 1945 will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Central Christian Church. Rev. Robert Badgett, pastor, will conduct. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery directed by Dannel Funeral Home. Lt. Watson was born at Temple, September 10, 1922, the son of Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Watson, Sr., now of Waco. He was married June 2, 1944 to Dorothy Jean Bryant. He was educated at schools at Sherman and Temple. He enlisted in the Air Force October 2, 1942 at San Antonio and was shipped overseas December 28, 1944. He had complete 60 combat missions over China before being killed. He was awarded the Purple Heart. Survivors include his wife; his parents; two brothers, Joe Watson of Houston and Dale Watson of Waco; a sister, Jo Anne Watson of Waco; three uncles and two aunts.
