Sherman Democrat March 4, 1941 Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Wynn, 80, formerly of Sherman, who died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anna Surghnor Lyon in Kansas City, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Dannel-Scott funeral home. Mrs. Wynns, the former Margaret Ayers was reared in Sherman, and as Mrs. Dan Surghnor reared her family here. Mr. Surghnor, who died a number of years ago, operated a saddle and harness shop on the south side of the county square in Sherman. She married Dr. Wynn, her second husband, in 1915, and they lived in Arkansas until his death several years ago, when she moved to Kansas City to live with her daughter. She had been ill several years. Mrs. Wynns is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Lyons; a half-sister, Mrs. Mary Goodwin of Oklahoma City, widow of a former Oklahoma senator; and two grandsons, Robert Surghnor Lyon of New York and Goodwin Lyon of Kansas City. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ayers, formerly owned part of the site now occupied by the Sherman post-office, and their home was there. The grandson, Robert Surghnor Lyon, is a student at the Juilliard school of music in New York. The other grandson, Goodwin Lyon, will arrive in Sherman Tuesday with his mother to attend the funeral.
