Moore, who died in this city Sunday, was one of the oldest men on the Texas & Pacific, in point of service. Arriving in Texas in 1889, in December, he went to work for the Texas & Pacific as a fireman. He first tried for a place at Texarkana, and was told he was too small to do the work, the road burned wood in those days and Mr. Moore weighed 110 pounds. Going to Marshall, he met up with an engineer he had known when he had worked as a fireman in Iowa, so he got a job. Mr. Moore was injured n a wreck here at Bonham, when a passenger engine split a switch, sideswiping a freight car and injuring Mr. Moore, laming him from which he limped afterward. Mr. Moore ran a switch engine here in the yards and in Paris, and afterward he went to Ft. Worth to engage in the same work. While there he was taken sick, coming back to Bonham, his home, where after several months illness, he died. He is survived by his wife and one son, Robert Moore, of New York City. Mr. Moore was a member of the Blue Lodge of Masons of Paris and also of that commandery of that city, and he was also a member of the Shrine in Ft. Worth. The funeral took place here Wednesday, having been delayed on account of the son, Robert Moore, being unable to get here sooner.
