June 24, 1915 BEAN Sherman, Texas, June 23 - M.F. Bean, 87 years of age, died at his home, 819 North Maxey street, just after noon today. Funeral services were held at 9:30 o'clock tomorrow morning at the residence and interment was in West Hill Cemetery. Mr. Bean was a native of Vermont and came to Sherman 14 years ago as a claimant to the Tom Bean estate, but as the case had been settled before his arrival and was never reopened, his case was never given a legal hearing. He is survived by his wife. He served in the Northern Army and is said to have witnessed the hanging of John Brown at Harper's Ferry. The Fannin County Favorite Friday, August 23, 1907 DOCTOR ROYSE DEAD Formerly Lived in Bonham and Made Many Friends Here Dr. John Royse, aged 65 years, died at his home, corner of College and Maxey streets this afternoon shortly after 2 o'clock from the effect of a bite from some sort of insect, probably a spider, which superinduced blood poison. Dr. Royse was a native of Kentucky where 2 brothers still reside. His wife survives him. The deceased was a most estimable gentleman. During his few years' residence in Sherman, he made many friends. - Sherman Democrat, Saturday, August 17. Dr. Royse resided in Bonham a number of years and was well known over the county. The Bonham News Friday, August 23, 1907 Dr. John Royce, well known in this county, died of blood poisoning at his home in Sherman last Saturday. He was bitten by some insect and blood poison set and caused his death.
