Burial: West Hill Cemetery Sherman Daily Democrat Monday, December 2, 1912 pg. 5 Nellie Hamilton, an old negro who was given a home by Mrs. H.N. Bussey, 703 South Montgomery street about 4 years ago, died suddenly Saturday night about 7:30 o'clock. She was over 100 years of age and her exact age was not known. She is an old settler in Sherman and is remembered by most of the older white families, having worked for them. She was an old-time negro, of the class that so few now remain.
