Sherman - Funeral services for Henrietta Emory Rogers, 95, of Sherman were held Saturday afternoon, July 13, 2013 at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel.  Entombment followed at the Mausoleum building at West Hill Cemetery.  She was a 39-year resident of Sherman.  Arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.
Henrietta was a strong, fun loving person who was born December 4, 1917 in Bonnerdale, Arkansas, daughter of Chiefton and Demie Emory.  She graduated Valedictorian from Valiant High School in Valiant, Oklahoma.  She graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1939 in Durant, Oklahoma.
After college graduation, she became a teacher and girls basketball coach at Ringling, Oklahoma.  Later she became a bookkeeper, accountant and then an office manager until her retirement.
Henrietta marred Charles Van Hoy on December 20, 1941 in Sherman; they were married for 25 years.  On November 14, 1970 she married Robert E. Rogers of Irving.
Henrietta belonged to Millerton Missionary Baptist Church, Golden Eagles Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and the Four Seasons Garden Club.
She loved to travel and made 3 trips to Alaska and one trip to England.  She loved to fish, especially at her brother's farm.
She is survived by her brothers, Vernon Emory of Garland and Wayne Emory and wife, Pat, of Sherman; her sister, Mary Emory Kirk and husband, Mike, of Plano.  In addition she is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by stepchildren: Bobby Rogers and wife, Patricia, of Pottsboro; Billye Jean Nestel of Orlando, Florida; and Mike Rogers and wife, Lynda, of Lewisville; and their grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Johnny Emory, Lois and BIll Binns, Peggy Emory, Charles Van Hoy, Robert Rogers and Patsy Joslin.
Pallbearers were Michael Emory, M ichael Kirk, Pablo Kirk; Scott Emory and Brian Rogers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the donor's charity of choice.
