West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas Belle Leeper Curd 1852 - 1929 Denton Record-Chronicle
February 15, 1929 Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Baldwin and Mr. and Mrs. Horace Leeper were called to Sherman this morning by the death of an aunt, Mrs. Belle Curd. The Palmyra Spectator Palmyra, Madison County, Missouri Word was received last week of the death of Mrs. Belle Curd on February 14, at Sherman, Texas. Mrs. Curd w as the wife of the late T.E. Curd, a prominent farmer in Marion County, the family later moving to Palmyra, where they made their home. Mrs. Curd, before her marriage, was Miss Belle Leeper of Chillicothe. She attended school at Palmyra Seminary when the institution was a flourishing Methodist boarding school for young ladies. About 25 years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Curd moved to Texazs on account of Mr. Curd's health. After Mr. Curd's death, Mrs. Curd made yearly visits to Palmyra until recent years, w hen failing health prevent Mrs. Curd prevented. Mrs. Curd was of a happy, hospitable disposition, loved by all who knew her. The family was prominent members of the Palmyra Methodist Church. One son, Lewis, of Ft. Worth, and her daughter, Mrs. T.C. Bass, with whom she made her home, and many other relatives and friends, will mourn her loss. Funeral services were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T.C. Bass last Saturday afternoon, the body being placed temporarily in a private mausoleum, and will be brought later to Palmyra to be buried beside her husband.
