Kay Todd, 83, joined her husband and her Lord, Friday, November 6, 2009.
Memorial service was held Tuesday morning at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, Bedford, Texas.  Rev. Robyn Valdez officiated.   Kay was laid to rest Monday afternoon in West Hill Cemetery, Sherman, beside her husband, Jerry Foch Todd, who preceded her in death January 17, 2009.
Kay was born December 23, 1925, the 4th child of Robert and Marie Elizabeth Maclin.  She graduated from Sherman High School where she met her best friend and husband of 62 years, Jerry Todd.  She attended Texas Woman's University where she majored in art.  Impressed with her talent, one of her instructors encouraged her to join the New York City art scene.  Stories of her time and adventures indicated that this was a special time in her life.  She abandoned it after World War II to return to Texas and marry Jerry.  Art remained important  to her throughout her life.  She was an award winning Texas artist for over 40 years.
Kay experienced adversity throughout her life, including being an orphan and a polio survivor.  Her response was to develop a strong character, compassion and spirituality.  She served as an active member, teacher or elder in the Presbyterian church for over 50 years.  Kay lived a life of service.  She frequently opened her home and heart to those less fortunate than her.
