West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas Marvin James Turner 1 April 1895 - 16 November 1986 Spray Garner Turner 16 September 1899 - 5 October 1986 Marvin J. Turner of 2423 N. Woods St., 91-year old retired wholesale oil distributor and house builder, died Sunday at a Sherman nursing home. Services were held Tuesday afternoon in Dannel Funeral Home chapel. Dr. Tom Brandon of the First Baptist Church officiated and burial was in West Hill Cemetery. Mr. Turner was born in Mineral Wells, son of Caleb Newton and Virginia Lee Perryman Turner, attended Mineral Wells schools and served overseas for 17 months with the U.S. Army during World War I. He married Spray Garner on July 4, 1930 in Mineral Wells. He moved to Sherman in 1930 and became engaged in the wholesale gasoline and oil business as distributor for Cities Service Oil Co. for 16 years and later with Panhandle Oil Co. until his retirement. He also built and sold houses for several years. He had been a member of the First Baptist Church since 1930 where he was a member of the Christie Sunday School Class and a former Sunday School teacher. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Darrell (Bessie Louise) Lance of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Mrs. Robert (Gail) Reid of Sherman....
