E.M. THRASHER DEAD
Carbuncle Causes Death of Well Known Sherman Citizen
E.M. Thrasher, public weigher of the Sherman precinct, died at the family residence, No. 213 S. Montgomery street, last evening at 8:20 o'clock, after a painful illness with a large carbu ncle on the back of his neck.
Interment was in West Hill Cemetery, Sunday afternoon, following services at the residence at 2 o'clock, which was conducted by Dr. T.A. Wharton, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Thrasher is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Thrasher, and 2 sons and 1 daughter.  They are John Thrasher of Ada, Oklahoma; Mrs. John Du r ham  and Tom Thrasher, of this city.
The announcement of the dath of Matt Thrasher, as he was known to the citizens of Sherman, will be received with sorrow throughout the city. He was 67 years of age at the time of his death, and had resided in Sherman since 1872, coming here direct from his native town, Hannibal, Missouri.  He was a quiet, unassuming man a nd attended strictly to his own affairs.  He reared a splendid family and in the primaries last summer received the Democratic nomination for public weigher for the Sherman precinct.  In the November election he was elected to the office and assumed the duties, and was making a splendid record as a public servant.   About a month ago he was attacked with a carb uncle on the back of his neck and although everything was done that was known to the science of medicine for his relief, the carbuncle refused to yield to treatment and surro unded by every member of his family, his life passed away last evening.  The family have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
