 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas  John Sneed, 69, passed away in his home on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in Sherman, Texas. Jack was born in Sherman, Texas at Wilson & Jones on March 18, 1949, son of Carlton "Burger" and Cora Dell Hardin Sneed. He graduated from Tom Bean High School in 1969. John's first job was at the local cotton mill. In 1970 he became employed at Anderson Clayton Foods and continued to work there for 25 years. Thereafter he used his skill and passion for wood working in a cabinet shop for the next 15 years. At the time of his death, he was employed by Emerson (Fisher Controls). John was preceded in death by his parents, Burger and Cora Dell; and his brother, Jack Sneed. John is survived by his loving wife, Linda Brown Sneed; they married in Covington, Oklahoma on May 19, 1970. He is also survived by his sister, Yvonna Hardin; his 3 children: Scott (and Jacob) Sneed; Zachery (and Stacey) Sneed; and Amy (and Ramiro) Pesina. He was also known as "Papa" to 7 adoring grandchildren: Hayden Sneed Pesina; Alyssa Sneed; Adleigh Pesina; Ava Pesina; Riley Sneed; Bailey Sneed; and Avery Pesina. He is survived by several generations of nieces and nephews and also had a special bond with Michelle, Kim and Emma Ludlow. The funeral service was held March 26, 2018 at Dannel Funeral Home. Pastor Lander Bethel of Grand Avenue Presbyterian Church officiated. Interment followed the funeral immediately at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman. John loved the Lord. He was a strong man, a loving husband, caring father and a gentle Papa.
